Aselsan inaugurated its facility that will produce 100 thousand lenses annually.
Aselsan Precision Optics Research and Production Facility was inaugurated with a ceremony. The facility, which will produce 100 thousand lenses annually, started mass production in March. İsmet Yılmaz, Minister of National Education, attended the opening ceremony of the facility, which produces binoculars for the national infantry rifle on a 5 thousand square meter area.
Aselsan Hassas Optik Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, whose foundation was laid two years ago, started its first production by producing scopes for the MPT-76, known as the national infantry rifle. The factory, where the design and mass production of the optics needed by the defence industry and the production of original and national weapon sights using these optics will be carried out, was built in the Organized Industrial Zone.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz said, "This Precision Optics factory in Sivas will also provide clustering in Sivas in the field of optics in the future. When it comes to optics in Turkey, Sivas will be the center. Therefore, this is a step, I thank those who contributed to this step."
"LET OUR NATION BE SURE, TURKEY IS INDIVISIBLE"
Stating that Turkey is going through a difficult period, Yılmaz continued as follows: "An airport is being inaugurated in Diyarbakır and Aselsan in Sivas. We will overcome these difficult days together. Turkey has been dealing with terrorism for 40 years, and terrorism is the most important problem of our country. God willing, we will put an end to terrorism. Since our people living in the east have no reservations about being one state, one flag, one nation, those who are the pawns of foreign powers have gained nothing. They will not be able to disrupt the resistance and unity of this nation. Our nation will succeed in coming out of these difficult days with a clean face. Because our state is strong. The fact that the state does some things carefully out of respect for human rights and the law is not a weakness, but a clear indication of self-confidence. We have lived together in these lands as brothers and sisters for thousands of years and we will continue to live together forever. Our nation can be sure that Turkey will not be divided, the call to prayer will not cease, and the moon-starred flag will not fall from these skies."
Noting that they will continue to serve this nation, Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz said, "We will increase investments and employment. We know that unemployment is our biggest problem. We have young people, high school and university graduates looking for work. They must be provided with a job and employment opportunities must be created, and this facility is one of them. In 2023, we have an export target of 500 billion dollars. It was said that this facility has a target of one billion dollars, considering that Sivas's annual exports are 200 million dollars, this facility alone aims to produce and export 5 times more. Dreaming is the first stage of realization. I think we will achieve this goal in the coming period."
"OUR DEFENSE INDUSTRY IS DEVELOPING"
Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz stated that good things have been done in the defense industry and said:
"Last term, we produced our own helicopter and unmanned aerial vehicle and delivered them to the Turkish Armed Forces. We wanted to buy armed unmanned aerial vehicles from allied countries, but they have not delivered any so far. Based on the saying 'a bad neighbor makes a host', when they did not give us armed unmanned aerial vehicles, we made our own vehicles. Hopefully, we will deliver them to our Armed Forces in the coming days. We will also have an aircraft carrier in the coming period. We will build our own satellite in Turkey. God willing, we will launch the satellites we produce from Turkey. We are building our own tanks and armored vehicles. Aselsan was established to build our own airplane. In the coming period, we will also build our own fighter jet. Turkey needs to develop and become stronger, and education is at the heart of this."
